Looked like this, same color and similar wheels. I couldn’t get a picture because i was driving and it was going the other way. But it might have just been a smaller F-150. Either way I like it.

Motor trend didn’t seem to like it that much but most other reviews have been very positive

https://www.motortrend.com/cars/ford/ranger/2019/2019-ford-ranger-first-test-review/

- The new Ranger is never settled. Its body is always moving, and as a result, so is yours. Bouncing up and down, tossed side to side, thrown forward or back into the seat. And that’s the Lariat model. We drove the FX4 off-road model, as well, and it was even worse. Entering a driveway at an angle was guaranteed to send your head flying toward the door window like that viral video of the people in the speedboat getting tossed like ragdolls. You constantly feel like a buoy in rough seas. I actually crawled under the truck to verify that A) it had anti-roll bars and B) they were connected (yes and yes). The Lariat is better, yes, but as features editor Christian Seabaugh put it, “If the FX4 is a 2/10 in ride quality, the Lariat is a 5/10. At least the Lariat doesn’t make me carsick.”

“The Ranger, being the newest truck on the market, somehow manages to feel the oldest and least refined,” road test editor Chris Walton said. “It feels like a ‘90s F-150.”

MotorTrend doesn’t like anything unless it’s an FCA product

It’s not as new as they seem to suggest, having been around since 2011. New to the US market doesn’t always mean new.

I spent a good chunk of my early 20s behind the wheel of a 90s F-150. It ain’t that bad. I am interested in the new Ranger because most trucks are just too big for the limited use I’d want one for. Though I won’t likely be in the market for another 5 years or so, and by then we may have the rumored new Courier, which I would be even more interested in.

Funny thing is the rest of the World seems to think pick-ups this size is fine, because this class of mid-sized trucks is the smallest traditional pick-up available anywhere in the World for the mainstream market.

Almost all our mid-sized trucks we complain are too big are based on these international designs sold throughout the World.

Of course this is excluding Japanese Kei trucks and those tiny utility trucks used in cities of developing countries.

Good point. I personally just don’t have use for a truck any larger than a mid-size like this. I might haul something every once in awhile, but it would mainly be for bike transport or because I don’t want my dog riding in the TL.

These accusations get thrown around everywhere on the net. One year it’s biased towards GM because they liked the camaro better, I have literally read comments saying they are “ General MotorsTrend" . One   year it’s Honda because they liked the Accord,   and one year I have heard BMW, not to mention Kia if they say anything good about the Stinger.

These things can tow 7,500 lbs. to me, that means towing a car or if you’re moving, towing a decent trailer. That’s all I need. Since it’s also available in hot pepper red, I’m planning on purchasing one  to replace my HPR ST. I’m planning on an S2000 next year for the sporty bits and a ranger for everything else. Sure, there’s the Colorado, but I couldn’t ever buy a GM product again after all the garbage GM we had growing up.

Sounds just like my 1993 Mazda B2300. Bouncy, floaty, etc.
